Special Guest: Mike Avon, Managing General Partner, ABS Capital
Mike is a venture capitalist, entrepreneur and executive focused on data analytics, FinTech, education, cybersecurity, marketing and eCommerce technologies and services. Currently, he is the Managing Partner at ABS Capital Partners, where he invests in growth stage technology-enabled services companies. He is also the Founder & Executive Chairman of ICX, a digital video analytics and intelligence company. Previously, he was the CFO & EVP of Millennial Media, where he led global finance, strategy, business development, corp dev, HR, legal and international operations. He helped found and launch Millennial Media as a venture capitalist in 2006 before joining the company full time in 2009. Prior to Millennial, he was a venture capitalist with Columbia Capital, where he led digital media, Internet, mobile and data analytics investments for a multi-billion-dollar venture capital and growth equity firm. He has 20+ years of experience in technology start-ups and growth companies as an entrepreneur, executive, attorney and venture capitalist.
He is currently on the Boards of ExecOnline, GuidePoint Security, deepWatch, SquadLocker, and ICX. Mike is deeply involved in the #DCTech community and on various Boards of the University of Virginia College of Arts and Sciences Foundation.
